A Helping Hand for the Concho Valley Food Bank

Through a long-time partnership, Kellogg’s and The United Family are always looking for ways to make good things happen in their communities. This time, that community was San Angelo, Texas.

While many United Family communities are fortunate enough to have multiple locations in their cities, San Angelo is a little bit different. They are the home to a lone Market Street, store #678 run by store director Kylon Atteberry. Even though they are alone on the southernmost part of The United Family’s trade area, don’t expect anything less than ultimate service from this team.

Like all communities, there are many in San Angelo who regularly battle against hunger and food insecurity. This is where the Concho Valley Food Bank comes into play.

The Concho Valley Food Bank’s vision is to see a thriving community and ensure everyone has access to sufficient nutritious food. Market Street and Kellogg’s joined forces to contribute to that mission.

On Wednesday, September 20, team members of Market Street and Kellogg’s gathered together to present the Concho Valley Food Bank with a check for $5,000.

As part of the Nourishing Neighbors initiative and the Feed the Love campaign, this donation will go to help the Concho Valley Food Bank continue their mission of fighting hunger and food insecurity across the region. In addition to the donation, U-Crew members from Market Street volunteered with the food bank by helping pack after school snack bags for children across the community.

“At Market Street, we make it one of our main goals to help in the fight against hunger and food insecurity in our beloved San Angelo community,” Atteberry said. “We are so thankful for this partnership with Kellogg’s. They have been phenomenal partners over the years, and we are glad for their help in making this donation to such an important organization!”

According to food bank staff, that $5,000 check represents nearly 40,000 meals for people in need. The partnerships with companies like Kellogg’s and the donations like these are made possible through the hard work of team members in stores across the company. Thanks to their dedication, thousands of people in San Angelo will feel the positive impact of The United Family.
