Bringing in the New Year by Giving Back
As January approaches, individuals often refect on their aspirations for the upcoming year, setting resolutions and defining goals. At The United Family, our commitment to improvement, innovation, and community service remains unwavering. Whether through donations, volunteering with the UCrew, or delivering exceptional service in our stores, we consistently strive to make a positive impact on our communities.
Approaching the new year, let’s collectively challenge ourselves to discover new ways, both big and small, to impact our communities in a positive way.
In honor of that mission to make a positive impact, our team closed out 2023 by joining forces with our friends at Mondelez to donate $10,000 to the South Plains Food Bank in Lubbock, Texas. This financial support will aid the food bank in its ongoing efforts to combat hunger and food insecurity in the region.
As many of you know, we frequently collaborate with vendors such as Mondelez, the company behind popular brands like Oreo and Triscuits, to secure funds for donations through sales initiatives in our stores. These charitable contributions are only made possible by the dedicated efforts of store teams across the company.
“We are so proud to continue our tradition of support for the South Plains Food Bank,” said Sidney Hopper, president of The United Family. “And I’m so thankful for our team and for partnerships with vendors like our friends at Mondelez. Working together to help support an organization like South Plains Food Bank means everything to us as a company. We know this money will help those in need across our community.”
According to the South Plains Food Bank, the $10,000 donated will help provide 30,000 meals for people in need across the region.
“We are so grateful for the partnerships of United and Mondelez that allow us to receive such a generous donation,” said Dina Jeffries, CEO of the South Plains Food Bank. “This goes a long way to help propel us into the new year as we continue fighting hunger on the South Plains.”
As we step into the new year, let’s continue fostering a spirit of collaboration and generosity, ensuring our collective efforts make a lasting and meaningful impact on the communities we serve.
Happy New Year, team! Let’s make 2024 our best year yet!
