Amigos Health Fairs Return August 8

As families prepare for a new school year, Amigos stores across the region are helping guests put health and wellness on the checklist, too. 

On Saturday, August 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Amigos locations in Lubbock, Plainview and Amarillo will host free Health Fairs featuring glucose tests, blood pressure checks and total cholesterol screenings. Guests can also connect with our health and wellness teams for tips and resources to support healthier lifestyles. 

These events are a great example of how Amigos serves guests beyond groceries.. By bringing free screenings, wellness information, and healthcare resources directly into our stores, we’re making it easier for guests to learn more about their health and discover services available in their communities. 

“Our annual Health and Wellness Fairs are an important way for us to support the communities we serve,” said Brenda Garcia, Health and Wellness Manager and Registered Dietitian for The United Family. “By offering free basic health screenings, such as blood pressure and cholesterol checks, we help guests take proactive steps toward better health. The events also provide community health and wellness partners with a platform to share information about services that many guests may not otherwise know are available.” 

Amigos pharmacy teams will also be available to facilitate immunizations for guests who need them, with many covered by commercial insurance plans. Community health and wellness organizations will be on hand to share information about local programs and services. 

To make the day even more fun, the first 50 attendees at each location will receive a complimentary drawstring bag with free product samples.
