Holiday Giving Season Begins Across The United Family
The spirit of giving is officially underway across The United Family, and two of our annual holiday campaigns are once again making a difference in the communities we serve. Now through November 25, guests in Lubbock can support Thanks for Giving, while guests in Wichita Falls can participate in U Can Share from now through November 22.
Both campaigns make giving easy. Guests can simply donate at the register during checkout using the pin pad, with every contribution staying local to help neighbors facing food insecurity and other challenges during the holiday season. These fundraising efforts are a powerful reminder of how small acts of generosity can create a meaningful impact when communities come together.
Thanks for Giving Supports Lubbock Meals on Wheels
Thanks for Giving supports Lubbock Meals on Wheels, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing nutritious, home-delivered meals to individuals who are homebound, elderly, or disabled. The organization’s mission is not only to provide meals, but also to reduce the social isolation many homebound individuals experience through friendly visits and volunteer interaction.
As guests visit United Family stores in the Lubbock area this holiday season, team members have an opportunity to raise awareness of this important cause. A simple reminder at checkout can encourage guests to make a contribution that helps ensure local seniors and homebound residents receive the support they need.
U Can Share Benefits Wichita Falls Area Food Bank
In Wichita Falls, the annual U Can Share campaign will once again support the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank, an organization whose mission is to nourish neighbors through food, education, and advocacy. The food bank serves as the central hub for charitable food distribution across 12 North Texas counties and works with more than 90 community partners and food pantries to help provide nutritious food to families in need.
The need is significant. According to the food bank, approximately one in five local neighbors experience hunger, and the organization provides millions of meals annually across its service area. Through programs such as mobile food pantries, nutrition education, children’s feeding initiatives and fresh produce distribution, the food bank helps thousands of individuals and families gain access to healthy food throughout the year.
During the U Can Share campaign, every register donation helps strengthen these efforts and supports hunger-relief programs right here in North Texas. Team members can make a difference by sharing information about the campaign and inviting guests to participate when checking out.
