Spotlight on Sackers
This summer, The United Family store teams have been busy competing to find their best baggers. Almost all 99 grocery store locations held their own sacking competition for one team member to reign victorious and earn the title of Best Bagger. With it narrowed down to nearly 100 sackers, advancing to the next round of the competition, here is the regional breakdown:
In late July, each United Family region held regional bagger contests, where each store brings their best bagger to compete against neighboring stores. The regional contest ranks first place with $500, second place with $250, and third place with $100. Here are the winners from each region, with the first place winner moving on to the final round:
Amarillo region’s first place winner is AJ De Luna of #539 Borger; second place is Casandra Valles of #528 Pampa; and third place is Nadiyah Chavez of #524 Amarillo.
Wichita Falls/Abilene region’s first place winner is Xariah Haile of #634 Wichita Falls; second place is Seth Kinzie of #516 Wichita Falls; and third place is Davy Powers of #577 of Breckenridge.
Lubbock region’s first place winner is Natalie Deathrage of #657 Lubbock; second place is Carson Funk of #553 Lubbock; and third place is Jaden Salazar #555 of Lubbock.
DFW region’s first place winner is David Robles of #562 Frisco; second place is Jefferson Callahan of #563 Allen; and third place is Robert Ignasiak #565 of Flower Mound.
Albuquerque region’s first place winner is David Givens Coriz of #939 Albuquerque; second place is Joe Addington of #938 Albuquerque; and third place is Caden Fort of #904 Albuquerque.
Midland/Odessa/Eastern New Mexico region’s first place winner is Maria Barron of #540 Lamesa; second place is Sean Bauzon of #680 Hobbs; and Nic Haas of #674 Midland.
This weekend, each regional winner will face off in The United Family’s 2025 Divisional Bagger Contest in Lubbock, TX. The first place division winner will win $1,500, second place will win $750, and third place will win $300. Best of luck to all the contestants!
