earth day Art Project
In a heartwarming collaboration, United Family store locations across Lubbock joined forces with Lubbock ISD to celebrate Earth Day creatively. With the mission to spread environmental awareness and foster artistic expression among the youth, students from 10 Lubbock ISD schools received special Market Street paper bags for their Earth Day-inspired artwork.
Spearheaded by The United Family, this initiative aimed to engage the Lubbock community and students by highlighting the importance of environmental conservation through art. As the uniquely decorated bags find their way into the hands of guests, they serve as tangible reminders of the collective responsibility we all share in caring for our planet.
“This art project has been a fantastic way to give children in our community an opportunity to engage with Earth Day in a fun and creative way,” said Abie Rampy, director of public relations for The United Family. Whether it’s through our reusable bag credit incentive, the LED lighting in our stores or our recycling initiatives, The United Family is always looking for ways to be a more sustainable business. This art project helping to educate our community’s children is just another part of that.”
The following schools from Lubbock ISD participated in the project:
- Miller Elementary
- Roberts Elementary
- Wolffarth Elementary
- Ervin Elementary
- Waters Elementary
- Williams Elementary
- Smith Elementary
- Roscoe Wilson Elementary
- Hardwick Elementary
- Rush Elementary
Also, don’t forget about United’s reusable bag program! Guests and team members who utilize reusable bags at the checkout stand not only cut down on plastic waste, but will receive a five-cent discount per reusable bag used. A big thank-you and shoutout to Market Street #502 for creating a unique and beautiful Earth Day display! To view pictures and learn more about this story, visit United Family Stories!
