United Supermarkets and Coca-Cola Reel in Fun for Lubbock

There’s something fishy happening at McCullough Park, and it’s a good thing! Thanks to a team effort from United Supermarkets, Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages, the City of Lubbock, and Texas Parks and Wildlife, the park’s lake is the ultimate fishing hotspot in Lubbock. Over 1,000 trout were released into the lake on December 10, giving local anglers plenty to catch and release.

Wes Graves, store director at United Supermarkets #537 in Lubbock was the heart of this initiative. A passionate fisherman himself, Wes teamed up with his son (appropriately named Fisher) to ensure the Lubbock fishing community–and those looking for a fun outdoor activity–could enjoy this newly stocked treasure trove.

“There’s nothing quite like spending time in nature,” said Wes. “We’re excited to bring the community together and give kids and adults a reason to leave the house. Fishing is a great way to do that, and now McCullough Park is ready for them!”

The scene on release day was a splashy one, with representatives from partner organizations and community members joining forces to welcome the trout to their new home. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or someone just looking to try their hand at fishing, the lake at McCullough Park in Lubbock is now the place to be.

So grab your rod, reel, and tackle box… it’s time to make some memories by the water.
