Kicking off Summer The United Family Way
As the weather heats up, so does the energy in United Family stores. From summer displays to summer schedules, our team members are diving into the season with their signature spirit. Whether it’s a team member cookout, a new summer perk, or just enjoying a slower pace between school semesters, there’s something refreshing about summer at United.
We asked our team members what their favorite summer event and product(s) are, and what they like most about their job in the summer! Here is what they had to say.
“I love all of the fresh fruit options that become available,” said Victoria Hernandez, store director of #545 United Supermarkets in Abilene. “Cherries, all of the soft fruits, and watermelon never tastes better than in the summer time!”
“Love seeing all the happy faces with ice cream and popsicles!” said Angie Yandell, assistant service manager at #509 United Supermarkets in Levelland.
“I love to see the fruits and veggies that are so refreshing and nutritious for our guests to stay hydrated in the summer heat,” said Sami Contreras, grocery manager at #533 United Supermarkets in Amarillo.
Across our company, teams are finding small but meaningful ways to make summer feel special and fun. Here’s how our team members are kicking off the season the United Family way.
“I love the personalized service and the time we save our guests in Streetside, especially this time of year,” said Sandra Greeno, streetside manager at #530 United Supermarkets in Amarillo. “We give our guests one less thing to worry about while they’re preparing for graduation, Memorial Day weekend, all the road trip snacks, 4th of July weekend, and then back to school. It is our privilege to be a small part of helping guests feed and care for their people.”
“I like to visit with guests that are going to be smoking meats,” said Kelly Harbour, bookkeeper at #657 United Supermarkets in Lubbock, “I like to learn new ways from them!”
“My favorite summer product is all things watermelon!” said Emily Parnell, social media specialist.
“I love sharing recipes and sauce/rub/seasoning ideas with guests and team members and trying new things they suggest,” said Brennen Chaparro, store director of #522 United Supermarkets in Amarillo.
