Helping Our Neighbors: Central Texas Flood Relief Campaign

The United Family continues campaign to raise funds for Central Texas Flooding Disaster

Our hearts are with everyone in Central Texas who have been impacted by the recent floods. To support recovery efforts and bring relief to affected communities, we launched a company-wide donate-at-the-register campaign, giving guests a reliable place to help.

To help kick off the campaign, The United Family lead the campaign with a gift of $10,000 that will be added to the total for relief efforts in the area.

Continuing until July 20th, guests can donate any dollar amount at the register at stores across the majority of our trade areas. When the campaign comes to a close, we will announce the full total.

All proceeds from this campaign will go to support all relief efforts by the San Angelo Area Foundation and Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, specifically the “Kerr County Flood Relief Fund.” From spare change to generous gifts, every dollar makes a difference for the families working to rebuild their lives.

As many of you know, over the Independence Day weekend, Central Texas was hit by intense thunderstorms that caused catastrophic flash flooding impacting thousands of people. As of July 8, local and regional authorities confirmed more than 100 fatalities associated with the storm, including at least 27 campers and counselors from Camp Mystic.

“We continue to pray for all of our fellow Texans who these floods have impacted, especially the families who have lost loved ones,” said Sidney Hopper, president of The United Family. “Words cannot adequately describe the devastation we are seeing from this event. If guests want to help, they can donate at our registers at check-out. The funds will go to organizations on the ground helping with relief efforts.”

This campaign is a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we come together with a common goal in mind. We are so grateful for the generosity we have seen so far, and there is still time to give. Let’s continue to show Central Texas that they are not alone.
