Honoring Those Who Served
Veterans Day At The United Family
This Veterans Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who have served our Country. Their courage and sacrifice to protect our freedoms inspire us every day. But for The United Family, showing appreciation to veterans is something we’re proud to support in our communities and teams throughout the year.
Veterans Day has been observed since 1919, originally known as Armistice Day, to mark the end of World War I. Today, it stands as a day of gratitude and reflection, a chance to honor all who have worn our nation’s uniform and recognize the countless sacrifices made in the name of freedom. It reminds us that behind every salute, every flag, and every story of service is a person who stepped forward to protect others.
At The United Family, supporting veterans is part of who we are. We’re proud to stand alongside organizations like Texas South Plains Honor Flight and Folds of Honor.
This past weekend, The United Family presented Folds of Honor with $15,000 at the TTU vs. BYU football game. One of the recipients is a United Family team member, Tyler Allison – Immunization Technician at #505 United Supermarkets on 4th and Slide in Lubbock.
Across the communities we serve, our teams also participate in local military appreciation events and support nearby VA clinics, ensuring those who served feel seen, supported, and valued.
Within our own stores, we celebrate our veteran team members through our Veteran Pin Program, a small token of our deep appreciation for their service – both to our country and our United Family guests. Each United States Veteran team member receives a military branch pin to display on their name tag.
Today and every day, we’re thankful for the heroes among us. To all veterans and their families, we salute you.
