The United Family Honors International Women's Day with Acts of Kindness

Each year, March 8 marks International Women’s Day, a time to honor and support women across our communities. At The United Family, our team members gave back to women in need.

On Wednesday, Lubbock UCrew team members joined to fill gallon-sized hygiene bags for the Salvation Army and Women’s Protective Services. The essential kits, packed with hygiene products, will go directly to women experiencing homelessness in the Lubbock community. Leading up to the bag delivery, team members in the office also joined by decorating the bags with words of encouragement and uplifting designs… small but meaningful touches to brighten someone’s day.

The Friday before International Women’s Day, more UCrew team members helped deliver these hygiene bags to the Salvation Army and Women’s Protective Services in Lubbock, Texas. A special shoutout to Kelly Haynes, The United Family’s Own Brand Director, for ensuring these products were donated. For the past few years, Kelly has played a key role in this project, coordinating donations and deliveries to make it possible.

Beyond the UCrew initiative, stores across The United Family are celebrating by featuring a women-owned product endcap throughout March. It’s another way we’re recognizing and supporting women in business!

“International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate the strength and contributions of women in our communities,” said Shannon Miller, EVP for The United Family. “At The United Family, we’re proud to support and uplift women in meaningful ways. It’s inspiring to see our team members come together to make a difference, and I’m grateful to be part of a company that values giving back!”
