Celebrating Teachers Across Texas!
Each month during the school year, students and families across Texas celebrate educators who go above and beyond in their classrooms. Through the Teachers on the Rise program, powered by Mrs Baird’s Bread and The United Family, teachers from Amarillo, Lubbock, and North Texas areas are nominated for their dedication, impact, and heart. In March, nine incredible teachers were honored across three regions:
Amarillo Area: Hayley Ayala of Hillside Elementary (Canyon ISD), Crystal Foster of Bonham Middle School (AISD), and Megan Gilliland of Canyon High School (Canyon ISD).
Lubbock Area: Kacie Cotton of Cathelene Thomas Elementary (Slaton ISD), Angelica Patiño of Alcove Trails Middle School (Frenship ISD), and Laurie Villanueva of Levelland High School (Levelland ISD).
North Texas Area: Layne Dennis of J. Lee Elementary (Coppell ISD), Carla Martinez of Coppell Middle School East (Coppell ISD), and Alex Holmes of New Tech High @ Coppell (Coppell ISD).
Now in its thirteenth year in Lubbock, twelfth in Amarillo, and fourth in North Texas, the program continues to receive heartfelt nominations that highlight how teachers truly change lives. Whether it’s a kind word at the right time or a consistent encouragement day after day, these educators leave lasting impressions.
“Teachers serve such a vital purpose in our communities and they are incredibly deserving of recognition,” said Abie Rampy, Director of Public Relations for The United Family. “We’re thrilled to celebrate teachers all school year long. We encourage students to keep nominating until May 4!”

Winners receive generous prize packages, including gift cards from The United Family and Mrs Baird’s gift baskets. Plus, students who nominate a winning teacher also receive a special thank-you gift. The Teachers on the Rise program accepts nominations through May 4, and it’s never too late to recognize the teacher who’s made a difference in your life.
