Happy Earth Day!
On April 22, The United Family joined forces with Lubbock ISD to celebrate Earth Day. In the days leading up to the event, local elementary students participated in a paper bag-coloring contest for Earth Day. At the Earth Day event, the winning student was recognized and presented with a prize for their work.
Over the past several years, The United Family has partnered with Lubbock ISD for a Special Earth Day Art Project by donating paper bags to elementary schools for students to decorate. The bags are then handed out at United stores on Earth Day. However, this year, the annual art project has been changed into an Earth Day Art Contest! Hundreds of paper bags were donated to schools, and one student’s artwork was selected to be featured in stores to celebrate Earth Day!
Additionally, stores across the company were encouraged to participate in Earth Day with their local elementary schools.
