Celebrating Our Future Leaders: The Store Leadership Development Program Graduates
Since 2015, The United Family training department has been dedicated to building a strong foundation of future leaders through the Store Leadership Development Program (SLDP). This internal training initiative is designed for current department managers who are eager to advance their careers within The United Family.
Over the course of eight months, SLDP participants immerse themselves in comprehensive training across all departments of a United Family grocery store. Beyond hands-on experience, participants engage in team building and leadership classes, tour United’s Distribution Center, R.C. Taylor, and USM Manufacturing, and participate in store walks with retail field supervisors, business directors, and RVPs.
This year, the program proudly celebrated 20 graduates from the SLDP class. Each year, participants are selected in February, begin their classes and store department rotations in March, and graduate in the last week of October.
“The Store Leadership Development Program is one of the highlights of our company’s commitment to growing great leaders. It’s a privilege to watch each group of SLDP participants grow throughout the program; their dedication, teamwork, and courage to learn inspire me every year,” said Robin Larson, Leadership Development Manager for The United Family. “I am incredibly proud of each one of our SLDP graduates and the hard work they accomplished to get to graduation. I look forward to all the great things they will do in the future.”
The United Family is proud of the SLDP graduates. Congratulations!
