Easy As Pie Campaigns are Massive Success ahead of the Holidays
One of our most iconic holiday fundraising campaigns just wrapped up and — SPOILER ALERT — it was a massive success thanks to the incredible efforts of team members across Abilene, Lubbock, and Slaton!
The Easy as Pie Campaign has commenced for 34 years. In that time, the campaign has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to help local Meals on Wheels organizations that feed seniors in need across the communities we serve.
The campaign works by offering guests a coupon for a FREE Mrs. Smith’s frozen pie in exchange for a $5 donation. It’s a win-win for the guest; they get to help their neighbors while also taking home a delicious pie right in time for the holidays.
This year alone, team members were able to raise nearly $86,000 to help support Meals on Wheels! That’s a lot of pie!
Meals on Wheels organizations across the country work tirelessly to help improve the health and quality of life of seniors by combating hunger and social isolation. They do this by enlisting the help of local volunteers to deliver nutritious meals to countless seniors across communities. These deliveries not only help provide nutritious meals, but they also offer an opportunity for social connection and a quick check of their well-being.
