Fast Hands, Full Carts
This past weekend, United Family team members celebrated some of the finest sackers across our six regions as they competed in our divisional Best Bagger Championship in Lubbock, Texas. These talented individuals proved their impressive skills, from packing bags to maintaining the speed and precision that makes them stand out. It was a day filled with friendly competition.
After weeks of store-level competitions, only the top sackers from each region advanced to the divisional contest, where they faced off for a chance to represent The United Family at the 2025 National Grocers Association Best Bagger Championship in Las Vegas. The stakes were high, with a $1,000 grand prize for first place and $500 for the runner-up—but more than that, it was about pride and recognition for our sackers’ hard work.
The competition was fierce, with each team member contestant bringing their best to the check stand. Ultimately, Davy Powers from United Supermarkets #577 in the Wichita Falls/Abilene region was named The United Family Divisional Champion!
Santos Ngo from United Supermarkets #527 in the Amarillo region was the well-deserved runner-up, taking home $500.
Our other finalists, representing regions from Lubbock to Albuquerque to Midland/Odessa to DFW, also delivered outstanding performances that reflected their dedication.
As Davy prepares to head to Las Vegas for the national championship, we couldn’t be more proud of all our finalists. Our team members embody the spirit of The United Family! We’ll be cheering on Davy as he represents United at the 2025 Best Bagger National Championship, where the winner will walk away with a grand prize of $10,000!
