Wingin' in the New Year with Chicken Donation to SPFB
United Supermarkets partners with Smart Chicken® to donate 4,120 pounds of chicken to the South Plains Food Bank as part of Smart Chicken’s annual Smart Giving Holiday Challenge. That’s a whole lot of meals headed straight to families across our communities.
This marks the 25th year of the Smart Giving program, which donates 10% of all Smart Chicken purchases made at United Supermarkets during November to the South Plains Food Bank. Over the years, this partnership has helped provide tens of thousands of pounds of quality protein to neighbors who need it most.
“Our partnership with Smart Chicken allows us to make a real difference right here at home,” said Tony Crumpton, Chief Marketing and Merchandising Officer for The United Family. “We’re incredibly proud to support the South Plains Food Bank and the vital work they do to fight food insecurity across our region.”
Smart Chicken is known not only for its premium, fresh chicken but also for its commitment to responsible practices and giving back to the communities it serves, making this partnership a natural fit.
“Every 10 pounds of Smart Chicken purchased resulted in one pound donated to the South Plains Food Bank,” said Mark Bozeman, Account Manager for Smart Chicken. “We’re grateful for the partnership with United and the opportunity to support families in need.”
The South Plains Food Bank shared just how impactful donations like this truly are.
“Protein donations are some of the hardest for food banks to secure,” said Dina Jeffries, CEO of South Plains Food Bank. “This generous donation helps us provide not just meals, but nourishment that supports health and wellness for our neighbors.”
Thanks to our team members, our partners at Smart Chicken, and our loyal guests who made this possible — this donation proves once again that doing good together is always worth it.
