School Supply Drive Returns to Support Students Across West Texas

The United Family’s Annual School Supply Drive Returns to Support Students Across West Texas

As families prepare for the upcoming school year, The United Family is rallying communities across West Texas to help ensure local students have the supplies they need to succeed in the classroom.

Now until July 26, guests can support The United Family’s annual School Supply Drive by making a donation at the register at participating United Supermarkets, Market Street, and Amigos locations in Lubbock, Slaton, Abilene, and Wichita Falls.

This longtime community initiative helps local school districts provide essential school supplies to students and families facing financial challenges as a new school year begins.

“We are so proud to once again support the students across our local school districts to help raise money for school supplies as the new year approaches,” said Sidney Hopper, president of The United Family. “While new school supplies can contribute to the excitement of a new school year, they can also be a point of financial stress for many families. The money we raise will help ensure each benefiting child is offered an opportunity for success in the classroom this year.”

As is tradition, The United Family hosted school representatives from participating Lubbock-area districts for a special mini-shopping-spree kickoff event to launch this year’s campaign. Representatives received a $150 gift card to begin purchasing supplies for students in their districts, giving the campaign a fun start while highlighting the immediate impact of community support.

In Wichita Falls, team members demonstrated their commitment to local students by making a lead donation of $1,500 to kick off the campaign, setting the tone for community support and encouraging guests to join the effort.

Together, donations collected in each market will stay local, helping schools provide the supplies students need to start the year prepared and confident.

For 15 years, The United Family’s School Supply Drive has brought together team members, guests, and school districts around a shared goal: giving every student the opportunity to succeed.

Whether through a special kickoff event, a lead donation, or a simple contribution at the register, every gift helps put essential supplies into the hands of students who need them most. As communities across Lubbock, Slaton, Abilene, and Wichita Falls come together once again, the campaign continues to demonstrate the power of neighbors helping neighbors and investing in the future of local students.
